The Storage Administrator is responsible for management of all centralized storage technologies. This technology includes the various NAS environments, storage networks, DAS environments and all other technologies classified as a storage technology.
Serve as subject matter expert on Linux, storage and backup technology implementation, daily support and monitoring of very large storage, backup, Converged systems SAN environment.
Work with engineering, project management, systems and database administrators to implement storage and backup architectures that utilize industry best practices in complex virtualized environments.
Monitor, analyse, and predict trends for systems, storage performance and adjust storage configurations for optimal performance and availability.
Monitor, analyse, and predict trends for ProtecTIER and Netbackup performance and adjust VTL and backup configurations for optimal performance and availability.
Capacity planning for systems, storage and backup demand management.
Follow change control protocols to implement off-hour modifications to storage, backup appliances and software, coordinating with offshore teams.
Automate storage, backup administration, monitoring, data gathering and reporting tasks using PERL, Shell and other scripting languages.
Perform monitoring of overall storage and backup environment utilizing SRM tools like SAN Screen, fabric performance tools like Virtual Instruments and other storage array specific tools.
Escalate hardware and software issues to vendors as necessary to resolve issues in a timely manner.
Ensure documentation of end to end storage and backup environment is current.
Communicate with peers and management regarding storage/backup operational issues and initiatives.
Provide instructions and guidance to junior global team members
Provide on-site support to vendors in relation to requests related to Payment Systems to facilitate effective service delivery.
Support third-party vendors to enhance assigned applications for performance, robustness and stability
Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices in order to facilitate cost optimization and productivity improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, Knowledge & OTHER SKILLS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
3-4 years of relevant experience in IT storage systems
Knowledge, & Other skills:
Analysis and design skills.
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively.
Computer and MS office skills.
Upper-Intermediate English skills.
